It is an ideal location for hill walking, being adjacent to the popular Burrishoole / Lettermoghera Loop Walks (featured in Ireland Walks magazine) and also close to the Bangor Trail (48 km), regarded as one of the finest hill-walks in the country.

In the late '70's The Benson & Hedges Circuit of Ireland Car Rally was held on occasions through this rugged countryside. At present the Connaught Vintage Club take some tours in this area.
